A- Anime-- this is probably one of the biggest things in my life right now haha. its pretty common to have the impression that people that watch anime are those losers with no friends so they spend their time watching "cartoons" made by others.WRONG WRONG WRONG hahahaha....I mean, it will surprise many of these "sceptics" on the popularity of Anime. like I came across a random stat online (I have no idea how reliable it is) but it estimated around 2-3 billion across the world watch anime
Anime has convincingly shifted into the mainstream. and I can say this with a whole ton of confidence-- literally almost every single young person that I talk to nowadays (regardless of race, education, etc) all have watched at some anime, and a huge majority also watch the concurrent on-going series, making for a great convocation topic. I am always surprised that the people that look like they are the last people to watch anime can ramble off their top ten favourite animes and characters and songs and so on. its makes for such a fun conversation and an awesome connecting point.
I just have to say that personally I feel that aside from the Christian worldview, Anime really presents the next best worldview. their value system lines up pretty close to what many Christians hold to as well. for example many a time Animes will promote Friendship over a BF-GF Relationship, sacrificing oneself for others, standing up for the weaker ones, protecting your family/friends, working together to overcome an impossible challenge, and so on and so forth.
then again I will not be surprised when many people will have their own view and condemn anime for having sometime objectionable content/ wrong values. what I have to say to that is this: the diversity found under the banner of Anime is so far and wide, its wrong to label and stereotype everything based on the small percentage. in every basket of apples there will be bad and rotten ones, but that does not mean that there are no fresh and awesome apples in the same basket
it really comes down to your choice of what you watch.
I would really recommend everyone to really give anime a try (the good ones haha)
start with Shigastu and cry. xD
B- Basketball-- I practically dropped all other sports and only focused on this sport for like the last 3 months. sayonara soccer and table tennis skills, I sacrifice all of you on the alter of the basketball court.
its really cool because I can attribute the start of my playing basketball to ANIME xD haha yeah, I watch the first 2 seasons of Kuroko No Basuke and I instantly went out to the nearby basketball courts to play basketball---3 months later im still a noob. (literally Murasakibara is my favourite anime basketball player and Rudy Gobert is my favourite NBA player)
Blocking--that's what I've been training and practicing when playing with others, so I mainly play Center or Power Forward. and its so much fun.
I cant dunk. sadly, im Asian--therefore I have neither the height nor jump power to dunk :'(
but still, I can put my natural athleticism and slightly higher jump and long arms to good use in this game.
another great thing about basketball is that you can like, play the game with any number of players--you can practice by yourself alone, play 1v1, 2v2 ---up to 5v5 full court. which makes it different from soccer where you need at least 5 or more players on each side for it to become fun.
C- Church-- the last big section where I dump my time into. serving in multiple ways at church is both rewarding as well as tiring. I will admit, after working a fair bit in the time that I had between my enlistment and the time I finished my studies, I have really discovered for myself that time does not come cheap and how you spend it really comes down to what you value.
but thankfully I have been to continue my level of service in church right up to the time that I enlist. and I really hope that it will not drastically change after that. I know moving forward there will be more challenges and constrains and attacks on my schedule in order to tear away church from that weekend spot and I really hope that I will have the strength of conviction to keep it the way it has been.
well that is A,B, and C of my life right now...D,E,F is up next
