G- Girlfriend-- hahahahahahaha no. Im homeschooled, 'nuff said. realistically im pushing to uphold the proud tradition of homeschool single-ness as long as possible xD. looking back I guess I can be really proud of my current track record of ZERO failed relationships, ZERO breakups, ZERO ex-girlfriends. my ultimate combo of being a nerd as well as a homeschooler helps...it really helps x'P
I have a joke about this: in Taylor Swift's song Blank Space there is a line that goes--"and I've got a blank space baby, and i'll write your name." but for homeschoolers that line would be--"and I've got a blank PAGE baby, and i'll (ask my parents if I can) write your name."
HAHAHA im so hilarious.
okay not
oh wellz I guess that's the wrong word for me so instead of Girlfriend i'll change that to Gaming.
G- Gaming-- yeah, anything fun that is not FPS (I get massive headaches just playing for 5 minutes)
anything from Maplestory, to Puzzle Pirates, to LOL, to SWTOR, and so on and so forth.
always going for the more supportive and defensive classes and stuff. as fitting my personality xD DEFENCE!
now im hooked on Brave Frontier lol, go team rainbow.
H- High-School-- im so sad, im so old haha. IM PAST HIGHSCHOOL AGE ALREADY. WHERE IS MY MY HIGHSCHOOL ROMANCE LIFE WHY DIDNT I HAVE ONE?
because im homeschooled. 'nuff said. but its okay because I get to live vicariously though anime. ROM COMS FTW!
I didn't get to go to my own graduation because its all the way in the US and that's so far away :'(
BUT IS OKAY. that's what I tell myself xD
I- Independence-- IM AN INDEPENDENT YOUNG PERSON AT 19 NOW. actually not so much. xD BUT IM SLOWLY GETTING THERE. EVENTUALLY. slowwwwwly.
i finally got a set of the house keys quite recently, and that was only because my part time job involved me coming home at 11+pm and it'll be faster for me to open the door by myself rather than wait 45 minutes for a family member to pull themself from dreamland to open the door for me.
so yeah, it wasn't a "oh! you are old enough and responsible enough so we entrust this to you" kind of thing it was more like a "just get yourself into the house without waking us up"
yep...but one step forward is still one step in the right direction ^^
with Army and (hopefully) University round the corner things should slowly work out.

DEFENCE-- yep, I went ahead and lumped them together...because this is what I feel has been the biggest change for me as a person.
Defence-- Sun Tzu once said:" Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack." (yes I just googled that and felt that it was a cool quote)
like really, it shows up when I play sports nowadays---as mentioned earlier, I play basketball and my favourite fictional bball player is Murasakibara and my favourite non-fictional bball player is Rudy Gobert...now what do these two players have in common? they are both fantastic defenders.
so that's what I do as well---defend, defend, block. defend, defend, block.
I got to play in a netball match--and no surprise there I played the GK position --- defend, defend, block. and the team I played for managed to come from behind to win the game.
in another way I think my defence will be called into question real soon-- this time its not a defence in a particular sport but the defence of my own faith as I head into NS. all these years going to church and being homeschooled takes away any excuse I can give for ignorance of my own faith. and now with the shift of my personality to a more defensive type I really want to see what i'll do when im put on the spot.
another aspect where my personality takes on a defensive stance can be seen when it comes to kids--like, I cannot stand it or bear it when they get harshly scolded by someone else, and because of that as well I cannot bring myself to give them the scolding that they sometimes really deserve. (but this does not apply to my siblings lol, most of the time im with the person scolding them and i'll be like:"yeah! give it to them! they need this scolding!")
I know, im the best brother around give me the award right now.
its been really fascination be able to see the change that I have gone though as a person (although there will be naysayers that insist that I have not really change but nah... I think I know myself better than other people know me xD)-- I was one really feisty person just years ago and now I like to think that I have mellowed down a little (because it really hit me that im really really old now.) and I think I can see myself defending others for a change.
haha... DEFENCE! DEFENCE! DEFENCE!

A, B, C, of Jerel's life right now
A- Anime-- this is probably one of the biggest things in my life right now haha. its pretty common to have the impression that people that watch anime are those losers with no friends so they spend their time watching "cartoons" made by others.WRONG WRONG WRONG hahahaha....I mean, it will surprise many of these "sceptics" on the popularity of Anime. like I came across a random stat online (I have no idea how reliable it is) but it estimated around 2-3 billion across the world watch anime
Anime has convincingly shifted into the mainstream. and I can say this with a whole ton of confidence-- literally almost every single young person that I talk to nowadays (regardless of race, education, etc) all have watched at some anime, and a huge majority also watch the concurrent on-going series, making for a great convocation topic. I am always surprised that the people that look like they are the last people to watch anime can ramble off their top ten favourite animes and characters and songs and so on. its makes for such a fun conversation and an awesome connecting point.
I just have to say that personally I feel that aside from the Christian worldview, Anime really presents the next best worldview. their value system lines up pretty close to what many Christians hold to as well. for example many a time Animes will promote Friendship over a BF-GF Relationship, sacrificing oneself for others, standing up for the weaker ones, protecting your family/friends, working together to overcome an impossible challenge, and so on and so forth.
then again I will not be surprised when many people will have their own view and condemn anime for having sometime objectionable content/ wrong values. what I have to say to that is this: the diversity found under the banner of Anime is so far and wide, its wrong to label and stereotype everything based on the small percentage. in every basket of apples there will be bad and rotten ones, but that does not mean that there are no fresh and awesome apples in the same basket
it really comes down to your choice of what you watch.
I would really recommend everyone to really give anime a try (the good ones haha)
start with Shigastu and cry. xD
B- Basketball-- I practically dropped all other sports and only focused on this sport for like the last 3 months. sayonara soccer and table tennis skills, I sacrifice all of you on the alter of the basketball court.
its really cool because I can attribute the start of my playing basketball to ANIME xD haha yeah, I watch the first 2 seasons of Kuroko No Basuke and I instantly went out to the nearby basketball courts to play basketball---3 months later im still a noob. (literally Murasakibara is my favourite anime basketball player and Rudy Gobert is my favourite NBA player)
Blocking--that's what I've been training and practicing when playing with others, so I mainly play Center or Power Forward. and its so much fun.
I cant dunk. sadly, im Asian--therefore I have neither the height nor jump power to dunk :'(
but still, I can put my natural athleticism and slightly higher jump and long arms to good use in this game.
another great thing about basketball is that you can like, play the game with any number of players--you can practice by yourself alone, play 1v1, 2v2 ---up to 5v5 full court. which makes it different from soccer where you need at least 5 or more players on each side for it to become fun.
C- Church-- the last big section where I dump my time into. serving in multiple ways at church is both rewarding as well as tiring. I will admit, after working a fair bit in the time that I had between my enlistment and the time I finished my studies, I have really discovered for myself that time does not come cheap and how you spend it really comes down to what you value.
but thankfully I have been to continue my level of service in church right up to the time that I enlist. and I really hope that it will not drastically change after that. I know moving forward there will be more challenges and constrains and attacks on my schedule in order to tear away church from that weekend spot and I really hope that I will have the strength of conviction to keep it the way it has been.
well that is A,B, and C of my life right now...D,E,F is up next

One Year Later....
whew...its been so long haha, I literally forgot that I had this here xD
well here I am, almost one full year from when I last posted. but really, I think now I just want to take stock of who I am and where I have come from before the next phase of my life.
no big surprise, im 19 years old right now (actually still 18 if you want to be precise). and that's still a new thing to me...feeling really really old haha. to be honest, deep down im still like 16 years old. looks like the old saying is really true: time waits for no one.
National Service coming up next week, and bam--2 years where I give my life to the country. also the marking point for the close of my teenage life (not that it was a big deal to begin with xD)
but yeah, so lets make this fun. i'll switchup the format a little here.
so in my following posts I will do an A-Z of my life as it is right now.
this is going to be fun xD
